2.5. Choose a dataset

The selection box at the top of the Caryoscope screen displays the datasets available in the file you opened, as well as information about any computations Caryoscope is performing on the data values. So, for example, in the following display:

Caryoscope has found datasets called CH1B_MEAN, CH1D_MEAN, and CH1D_MEDIAN in the input file, and is displaying the base 10 lograrithm of each value -- hence the "log10.0(datasetName)" notation.

Select your dataset of interest from the list. Note that, when you select a dataset, Caryoscope has to retrieve the actual data and, if the input file is large, this may take some time. Again, please be patient!

For more information about controlling the selection and display of datasets, see Section 3.2, “Settings”.
